Nneetu Chandra lesbian bikini photo shoot for Man magazine stalled
A raunchy photoshoot has landed actress Nneetu Chandra - no, its not a typo; her website spells her name as Nneetu, I kid thee not - in trouble with the overactive moral brigade in Maharashtra.
The photoshoot with Nneetu Chandra and model Krishika Gupta for The Manmagazine, where the two were wrapped around each other, drew the ire of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, who allegedly, barged in and disrupted the shoot.
They objected to the photo shoot, saying that it promotes lesbianism, which, if they are to be believed, does not exist in India, hence sorely in need of promotion, we deduce.
The “shocking photos” will appear in the June issue of The Man magazine, which will hit the stands in a few days.
Nneetu Chandra was quoted as saying that the shoot was done aesthetically.
“But these men were a frustrated lot. First they tried to seek my attention and I acknowledged them. But as I went ahead with my work, they started feeling ignored and thus created a scene. They gave a political turn to the whole issue screaming communal slogans and we had to stop the shoot,” she said.
Nneetu Chandra will be next seen in Rahul Dholakia’s Mumbai Cutting and Ram Gopal Varma’s controversialRann, which is scheduled for an October 2009 release.
She will also appear in Jagmohan Mundhra’s The Apartment and Gary Garewal’s Khushar Prasad Ka Bhoot.
The 24-year-old actress’ first movie was Priyadarshan’s Garam Masala (2005) with Akshay Kumar. She then starred in a Telugu movie Godavari, followed by Madhur Bhandarkar’s Traffic Signal in 2007.
In 2008, Nneetu Chandra appeared in three movies, One Two three, Summer 2007, and the more successful Dibakar Banerjee movie Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!
Her latest flick, 13 B, with Madhavan was also a moderate hit.
